Makes sense to me. Although it's not always easy to control the way one feels in the tough condition. But once you do it, works miraculous.

When the way you feel is controlled by a condition, you can never influence  a change in the condition.
But, when you are able to control the way you feel within a condition, then you have the power to to influence the change in the condition.
